"The Dead Body" is the fourth episode in season 1 of The Haunting Hour. It first aired on December 25, 2010.
Will strikes a deal with Jake, the new kid, to take care of some bullies -- and soon discovers that Jake is not exactly a new kid...or a living one.
With the school dance coming up, Will wants to ask Anna to the dance, but every time he tries, two bullies named Travis and Chang humiliate him in front of her. Will meets a new kid, Jake, who offers to get rid of the bullies for him. They make a deal that Jake will get rid of them, and when he needs it, Will will pay him back. To do this, Jake pretends to be a dead body in front of the Travis and Chang, and sits up screaming, causing the bullies to panic and run away. Jake believes this isn't enough, so he "kicks it up a notch." Will discovers that what Jake did gave Travis and Chang panic attacks. Will confronts Jake, only to find out later from The Elderly Janitor that Jake died in 1961. The day of the dance, Will hears music and finds himself back in 1961 (the year Jake died) after seeing a picture of then-President John F. Kennedy. Will finds himself stuck in the same cage Jake was stuck in on that day. He manages to escape just before Jake's tormentors set fire to the room and returns to the present, only to discover that Will didn't survive and is now a wandering spirit while Jake is human and steals Anna from him.
